3 Weapons God gives us when going to college Essays - Christianity

3 Weapons God gives us when going to college Proverbs 22:6(KJV) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Philippians 4:6-7 6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Jeremiah 29:11-13(KJV)For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Introduction When I began writing this speech the first thing I did was look at the countdown timer I had created for myself so I can see how much more time I got until the burden of high school is over. The timer was at 7 weeks, 19 hours, 20 minutes, and 32 seconds until my official graduation ceremony begins. And for the last couple months each day I would check this timer and I would say to myself I'm so ready to go, I'm ready to get out of Charlotte, I'm ready to get away from my parents I'm ready to get out of North Meck , I'm ready to go. I know i'm not the only one. It seems like when we get this vision of us leaving and going to college and being( to a certain extent) on our own we begin to fantasize and over anticipate and underplay the readiness of college. But as a start to think about it I'm starting to realize that the closer and closer I get to graduation the more and more real this whole scenario is beginning to get I am beginning to see that this next section on my life is truly all on me. I have to rely on myself more than I ever have had to in my life. My parents aren't gonna be there everyday probably not even every month seeing that I am going to be hours away. And the thing is for a lot of us Seniors in here that is the realization of a lot of our situations most of us. Most of us will at least three to four hours away. And for most of us times will get tough, things will get hard, life will knock us down in these next four to five years. But the great thing about the word of god is that it has a solution to every situation we encounter in life. This scripture was a favorite of our reverend pellum as it seemed almost on every week long trip that we had. That Scripture is Jeremiah 29:11-13(KJV)For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I feel like this scripture can carry us through any situation that we are going to face in college and in life. This scripture tells us that any situation that we come across, any hill we have to climb we can give it to God and he will work it out. When you come across a class and you don't know how you're gonna pass remember God has a plan for you. When you're buried in books and you literally feel like giving up just remember god has a plan for you. When you done spent up all of your meal swipes and you got two more weeks left in a month and you have no extra funds to pay for food just remember god has plan for you. When the boy or girl you fell for

The Industries Where People Are Most Likely to Quit Their Jobs

The Industries Where People Are Most Likely to Quit Their Jobs People threaten to quit their jobs all the time. That doesn’t mean they do. But it is a common enough refrain- and a common enough occurrence. Turns out, however, it seems to be more common in certain fields than in others. Here are 10 fields most susceptible to losing personnel.1. HospitalityYou try waiting on grumpy people your entire workweek. Food service employees and people in the travel industry work crazy hours and are paid relatively little, which can be difficult to sustain. Plus, this industry draws young people supplementing their income and often loses employees to their forever careers.2. HealthcareHigh stakes, high stress. It’s not easy having people’s lives in your hands. Sometimes this field can be too much to take long term.3. Real EstateIt’s easy enough to get your license and start practicing. But this job is actually incredibly difficult in terms of achieving actual success. Almost half of aspiring agents quit after failing to make the ir first sale. Without the right negotiation skills and sales prowess, it can be incredibly difficult to stick out.4. Non-profitHard work, personal development†¦ no money. Unless you’re in a top management position, this can be a frustrating and unrewarding venture. Lots of non-profit sector employees tend to migrate into the private sector to make more money.5. Mining/loggingTalk about grueling, hazardous work. There’s a very high risk of fatalities in this field and the earnings are comparatively low. So when miners or loggers get a shot out, they almost always take it.6. ConstructionThis career choice is not terribly well compensated, and can be extremely dangerous.7. RetailMuch like the service industry, retail attracts younger employees who can suffer the low hourly wage and unpleasant, inflexible hours. But very few stick around if they can help it.8. Arts and entertainmentLots of people have dreams to be performers, actors, musicians, magicians, you name it . But the career is exceptionally challenging and paid opportunities are scarce. Given the difficulty in finding a stable career path, lots of artists end up finding other work.9. Trades/transportMany workers who quit this field move onto better opportunities, considering the skilled labor involved. Some, however, don’t- such as taxi drivers, truckers, freight haulers, etc. The work can be taxing and the pay relatively low.10. Transportation warehousing/utilitiesWith an even higher fatality rate than mining and logging, these workers are at a very high risk for workplace injury. And, again, the pay is often hardly worth the risk.

Pseudoscience and Astrology Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Pseudoscience and Astrology - Essay Example The scientists are willing to admit that only a part of traditional astrological doctrine is scientifically based: among them the astronomic knowledge about the planets movements; classification of people’s psychological states, character and behaviours; professional psychological terminology, etc. Trying to prove that astrology is pseudoscience, the scientists in their critical works often rely upon the results of various statistical research. There have been statistical research that traced the lives of people who were born on the same day and time, and the results of this research have shown that there is no connection or coincidence between them. Especially well known are the works of Michel Gauquelin basing on the biographies of famous people that have shown that there is no correlation between a person’s character and profession, on the one hand, and their astrological parameters, on the other. There have been other experiments conducted by M. Gauquelin: Other tests show that it hardly matters what a horoscope says, as long as the subject feels the interpretations were done for him or her personally. A few years ago French statistician Michel Gauquelin sent the horoscope for one of the worst mass murderers in French history to 150 people and asked how well it fit them. Ninety-four percent of the subjects said they recognized themselves in the description. (The Universe At Your Fingertips, 2001-2009)
